Charleston, South Carolina is a city situated on the Atlantic coast which was founded in 1670. It is made up of cobblestone streets, pastel antebellum houses, and historic districts such as the Battery. Charleston has beautiful promenades and parks overlooking the port as well as the famous Fort Sumter. The downtown sits on a peninsula separated by the Ashley and Cooper Rivers. This southern city has great historic destinations, beaches, waterfronts, and charm.
